In the fall of 2013, David and Claudia, ready for a new challenge, and with a continuing love and respect for animals and a passion for veterinary medicine, decided to open a new veterinary clinic and practise together again. All four of their daughters have been extremely supportive of their parents’ latest venture and have offered invaluable help through advice, encouragement or volunteer labour. This has truly been a family effort!
The Listers were able to purchase the old Currie store on Route 3 in New Perth, just a few kilometres from home. The house dates back to at least 1865 when it was home to a general merchant and his small country store. This history was important to David and Claudia and they spent several months renovating the building to transform it into a modern new veterinary clinic while retaining some of its heritage features.
The resulting New Perth Animal Hospital, which opened on April 10th, 2014, is a full service veterinary clinic, offering both large and small animal services, ranging from mobile farm and house calls to medical, dental and surgical treatment in clinic. Drs. David and Claudia are thrilled with the transformation and look forward to welcoming old and new clients and patients alike.
